FANDANGOE WHIP+SKIP :
A TOURING ICE CREAM VAN/KIOSK
FOR MENTAL HEALTH+COLLECTIVE GRIEF

The Fandangoe WHIP was conceived in lockdown Lisbon/London in 2020 and became a reality in Summer 2021. The WHIP is an ice cream van delivering both scoops and an integrated mental health and collective grief programme. Due to its success in Summer 2021, being commissioned by Tate, Design Museum, South London Gallery, Canary Wharf and University of the Arts, we embarked on a more sustainable collaboration for 2022, with a more far reaching programme. The Fandangoe WHIP became the Fandangoe SKIP.

The Fandangoe SKIP is a collaboration between Skip Gallery, CAUKIN studio, The Loss Project and Fandangoe Kid.
The Skip is an ice cream kiosk with an integrated mental health and grief programme, commissioned by Greenwich Peninsula/NOW Gallery and Canary Wharf in London for Summer 2022.

Following the success of the Fandangoe SKIP in London, the project was commissioned by Arts Brookfield, NYC and was installed at World Trade Center in October 2022. Here, we ran a full programme of events with NYC based practitioners, programmed by the Loss Project.

The Fandangoe WHIP + SKIP reached over 100,000 people during their tours and the project was commissioned by BBC World Service for a documentary called One Scoop or Two, released on 18/11/22.
